Want to live in Amsterdam and not sure which neighborhood suits you best?

Here is a guide to the best districts in the capital of the Netherlands. A city with many neighborhoods, so make sure to find the best one for you.

1. The Canal Ring, the most popular area to live in

Here we are in the center of the city, the great advantage is that you can reach everything in less than 30 minutes walking. Since it is the central and therefore the most touristy neighborhood, it is perfect for young people, because certainly it will not be boring here in the evening.

One of the best areas to live is Dam Square, the most central point of the city. And although for this reason, the prices in this area are the highest in the city, here you will experience the magic of the city.

The second option is Central Station, which is very central and well connected. The station, which is only 10 minutes from Dam Square, is one of the busiest and most touristy areas. This area is excellent because of its good connections to the rest of the city. The area is full of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a wide range of apartments.

We shouldn't forget Pijp, an ideal option to stay in Amsterdam. It is a highly recommended neighborhood, as it is quiet and residential. In this area there is a wide variety of cuisines from different cultures, so if you are a food lover, this is the place for you.

Zuideramstel and Amsterdam Noord, two options outside Amsterdam's city center.

Zuideramstel is a business district in the south of the city; an affordable area without too many tourists, with good access to the metro and tram. Prices are lower compared to other parts of the city, and apartments are usually very spacious. The best international schools are located in this area, which is especially interesting for families moving to Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Noord is a fairly new and promising neighborhood. Good transport connections make living there even more attractive, the city center can be easily reached by ferry in just 3 minutes or by the new metro connection. Housing prices are lower and apartments are generally larger. The north of the city is full of parks and green spaces - ideal if you are traveling with your pet.
