"People serving people": Eurofragance and Apartool present their case at the AEGVE Summit

The evolution of the travel manager role

AEGVE, the Spanish Association of Corporate Travel Managers, held its Summit from November 6th to 8th during a cruise trip across the Mediterranean. The Summit brought together industry experts to address the changes the industry is experiencing: from digitalization to sustainability, risk management, and the evolution of the Travel Manager role. The event was structured with conferences, roundtables, and networking sessions that facilitated the exchange of ideas.

"People Serving People: The Value of Service" was the title chosen for the presentation by Judit Navalón and Conchi Jerez. Together, they explained the importance of putting people and their experience at the center, something that is essential for managing travel today.

People serving people: a success story

Eurofragance was looking for an agile, reliable solution that was aligned with their travel policies, especially for medium and long-term stays related to projects, temporary assignments, and team travel. Their policy includes the use of apartments for stays longer than ten days. To align expectations, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are very useful, a vital tool to guarantee quality standards and resolve issues effectively.

Conchi emphasized the importance of effective coordination with the travel agency providing other services—such as flight tickets and car rentals—ensuring all pieces fit together to deliver a perfect experience.

Judit and Conchi also focused on incident resolution. Judit mentioned a recent case in Dubai where an accommodation issue arose, and Apartool quickly responded by coordinating the solution with the provider and the travel agency. Everything was documented, and the traveler felt supported at all times, demonstrating not only the effort to resolve potential issues but also going above and beyond to care for the people’s experience.
